Day 2
  • Mid-Morning exploration of West Gable Cannery Ruins

    • Discover the remnants of the cannery destroyed in the ’64 earthquake by a tsunami. Three caretakers lost their lives here, among man-made lakes that fed a wooden aqueduct for an easy hike.
    • Capture stunning photos of the historic ruins.
  • Enjoy lunch as we cruise down to Dangerous Passage, leading into the breathtaking Icy Bay and Nassau Fiord.
  • Upon entering Nassau Fiord, encounter numerous seals basking on icebergs. Glide beneath Chenga Glacier, weaving seamlessly between the massive ice formations.
  • Anchor along the eastern shore of Nassau Fiord and deploy shrimp pots for an early morning catch.
  • Embark on an evening hike to the overlook of Chenga Glacier, witnessing the spectacular calving process while listening to the awe-inspiring thunderous sounds of the glacier.
  • Day 3
  • As you prepare to depart for Glacier Island, take a moment to breathe in the excitement and anticipation that comes with this journey. It’s a chance to embrace the beauty of nature and create lasting memories, and we understand how special this adventure is for you.
  • Today, as we joyfully cruise up Dangerous Passage into Knight Passage, we’ll be greeted by a vibrant fishing fleet, the possibility of spotting magnificent whales, playful Dall’s Porpoises, and charming Puffins adorning the cliffs of Glacier Islands, all while hundreds of sea lions bask contentedly on the steep beaches of Glacier.
  • That evening we will anchor in Angel Cove which could have bergs floating about from Columbia Glacier.

Day 4

  • Grab your life jackets, folks! We’re about to embark on a short skiff ride up the cove where we’ll attempt some serious beach exploration—bonus points if you find any treasure! Watch out for those gigantic icebergs; they’re just chilling out on the spit. Brace yourselves. Those nesting Oyster Catchers are like the overly chatty relatives of the bird world. They’re sure to give us a few unsolicited opinions!
  • As the afternoon rolls in, we’ll be cruising towards Long Bay for an exhilarating visit to Billy’s Hole for a hike into Hobbit Land. Get ready for an adventure!

Day 5

  • Cruise to Eaglet Bay. Then paddle up to Cascade Falls, the biggest water show in the sound. Seriously, it makes Niagara look like a leaky faucet! Be prepared for a splashing good time as we kayak to the base of the falls. Don your rain gear. Mother Nature has a sense of humor! Afterward, we’ll play hide and seek in the coves nooks and crannies by kayak. After all, who doesn’t love a good game of aquatic hideaway?

Day 6

  • Weigh anchor and steam to Shoestring Cove for a kayak adventure and shore side exploration. Late afternoon finds us journeying up Esther Passage to Granite Bay for the evening.

Day 7

  • Head back to Whittier for afternoon pick up for ride back to Anchorage.
